a tale of two cities

i have been going to nyc for the better half of my life, and i always loved it. its definitely a fun place, with tons to do, and i've done a lot. Actually one of the only things i never got to do was go to the world trade center before 9/11 but thats another story. i do remember seeing them one when i was around 12 and it was amazing. i'd love to live in the city; the fast pace, always moving, bitchy people, interesting people, nightlife, restaurants, brownstones...i love it all. I forgot to mention shopping! it's pretty sick some of the things ive gotten myself into on a random city excursion, but once again another story.

i have opened my eyes to a new city by the name of Philadelphia, and i am intrigued. it is totally a different feel. i felt like i was in a city but not at the same time. it felt friendly which is something nyc isn't always. i liked the mix of the new and old, and i have to say i felt very comfortable there. it was chill, just walking around you would pass statues and signs, art & sculptures. it felt like the city belonged to the people, like it was their canvas to express themselves in whatever way they choose (did i mention stumbling upon the gayborhood and the first thing i hear is Lady Gaga blasting) i thought that was very fitting and funny. i definitely would consider moving there. getting off the island is something i have been thinking about for a while,

but i haven't figured out where.
