Don't make me think

I was skimming through some of the reading material, and the pdf on the "elements of user experience" really reminded me of a book on web development called Don't Make Me Think; written by Steve Shrug. The purpose is to try and teach people how to compose content properly tailored for the internet. It follows its own principles well, as its a short read (and cites that as one of its selling points), simple, and straight foward: it points out various habits and attitudes of internet users such as their habit of not reading a website, but scanning it.

Writing has been another hobby of mine, and I my writing skills are much better than my public speaking skills, as you've probably noticed in class. One of the reasons is because it comes more natural to me and of course, there is more time to think before conveying what you want to say. I try to keep in "writing shape" by participating in arguments on some forums, and presenting things clearly and concisely. Anyway, writing for a website is pretty different than writing, say, an essay or lab report. You have to be concise as possible (which I like), and follow that K.I.S.S.(keep it simple stupid!) principle because noone likes to read or think --kind of ironic when its pretty much all you do on the internet.
