So fat children. Why is there an epidemic of overweight kids? I don't blame the kids; I blame the parents. I'm not pretending that I'm the thinnest person in the world because I know I'm not, but I didn't get fat until I was allowed to choose my own foods. My parents made sure that I ate the right portions and healthy things.
So many parents today want to be able to eat anything they want, so it goes without saying that their kids will follow suit. If mom is sitting on the couch eating Cheetos, her kid is going to want to also. I've learned a lot about eating healthy in the last few months and even just cutting portions in half could help. Of course restaurants are not helping in the matter because the portion sizes are outrageous. I think we could all benefit from just knowing how much should be in a normal portion.
What happened to kids going outside all of the time? When I was young, all I wanted to do was to play with my friends outside. Now video games and tv consume kids' lives. It's very upsetting. I don't want to be known as a fat nation any longer. Health is very important and we are taking it for granted.
