We dance around in a ring and suppose, while the secret sits in the middle and knows.

That's a poem by Robert Frost --I always like that little poem, because I can relate to in many ways. In my house hold I have one older sister, but I have another brother and sister than live elsewhere (by my father), and I used to be the only one to know about it. I was very young (probably around 5-6), and my father seriously underestimated my understanding of "grown up" topics, as many parents do. We all used to be together at my fathers mothers house along a few of my other cousins, almost every week, spending the weekend.

I never told anyone about it, I guess I didn't want to start any shit between them, and I had enough sense to know that it would start some major shit. My father even used to flirt with other women right in front of me, saying subtle jokes thinking I didn't understand, but he couldn't be more wrong. There was one situation where this lady (I think one of the neighbors around my cousins house) complimented him by saying he had a cute son; and he told her she could have one just like me, but "you know what you have to do to get it".

I'm laughing to myself right now remembering how that felt, I don't even think I knew how to curse back then, but I remember having an "Oh shit..." feeling, and just keeping quiet. After some years my father never brought me around my cousin's house anymore, because I guess he figured I was old enough to understand and he wanted to keep things on the hush. Today though, I hold no real hard feelings or resentment towards him for it. We even had a conversation about it, and I could tell he was surprised how non-nonchalant I was about the whole situation. He once even invited me to meet the other family, but I told him "Meh, not today..." He gave me a slight smile and nodded.

@Loraya lol, funny. But I didn't mean to say that all the people I worked with were "wonderful", but it was the other way around actually --which is what made things more interesting. It can be fun to see people try to cope with everyone else's oddities and quirks. That talkative guy at your job sounds like "Kelly" on The Office.
