I'm So Glad I Have A Boy!!!!!

I’m spending the day out at my brother’s house. I’m with my sister in law, my son and my two nieces. I’m so glad I had a boy. My nieces are growing so quickly and the older one, which is 6yrs old, is already talking about boys in her class who are cute. My sister in law is a nurse practitioner and she is subscribed to this health magazine. My niece, Isabella was going through this magazine and came across an image that focused on a person’s mouth and some sort of disease or breakout infected with pus. So my niece asks my brother “daddy what’s wrong with this persons mouth” and my brother responds “that’s what happens to you when you kiss a boy”. I tried not to laugh because I knew what my brother was trying to do. Attempting to curb his daughter’s interest in boys by trying to scar her for life!!!! It was really the funniest thing ever. I don’t blame him.
Today’s generation learns a lot just through media, which has become a part of all of our lives, unless you live like omish people. I rather expose my son to what he is eventually going to learn, but in a more drastic and impacting way so that he knows what to avoid. I just wonder when the right time would be. My parents never had “the talk” with me. Granted, I was brought up very religious so that helped, but I’m very close to my son. We talk about everything and I want to keep the lines of communication always open, specially when it comes to these kind of things.
