I've worked really hard for the past two and a half years. Going to school full time, working full time and taking care of my son has been really hard and stressful. Many times I told myself I was not gonna make it, but I managed to stay on track. Now that I'm here at the start of my career, I find myself feeling nervous about what is about to come. I'm thinking of the many ways I can inspire the minds that I will come inc contact with and how to show them that it's important to take in as much as you can. Life is too short to second guess ourselves and if you want something nobody but yourself is what's standing in the way.
So I begin to ponder ideas about what methods to implement when I'm teaching in September 2010. I think about how much I enjoyed working in groups not only in elementary, middle and high school, but in college as well. When I work in groups I'm able to learn from my peers and the distribution of the material that needs to be covered can be well distributed to ensure that everyone participates. Participation is key. It's the only way that I will be able to get into the minds of these kids and help them mold their individuality. How do I engage the most shyest kid in my class. I mean they taught us some stuff, but we have to eventually come up with our own unique way...I gotta a lot of work to do.
