Car Insurance

I’m in the process of switching my car insurance and I wish I would have gotten my license much sooner. I lived in queens most of my life so a car wasn’t needed and I never really thought I would need a car. Once I moved to Long Island that changed immediately. So, because I’ve been a driver for less than 5 years I’m considered an inexperienced driver. I feel as if they judge me as a teenager in his/her 16 years of age. So I went online to get different quotes and the cheapest one I have found so far is progressive for $1033.00 for 6 months. That is still $400 more than what I pay now. I kept my insurance under my sons’ father because we get a discount together and now I want to have it under my own name. I don’t want to keep my insurance under him forever.

I think it’s unfair that I’m considered an inexperienced driver. I think they should take into consideration the fact that I have never gotten into a car accident that was my fault. The two accidents I have been in were people hitting me. The first occasion, my car was parked and a lady pulling out from the parking lot hit me. The second time, it was raining out and someone in front of me stopped short and I was far enough to brake on time. I wasn’t so lucky because the person behind me rear ended me. Neither one of the accidents has been my fault, so why can’t they be a little more appreciative….
