the beach
there's something about the beach, and the water, finding pretty shells, walking through the sand and along the shoreline that is beautiful. previously i told you about my 4th of july trip to fire island. well, a much needed part of that trip consisted of a walk along the beach. the sound of the waves crashing upon the shore is soothing to me, and i found myself just watching them come up and wash back for a good chunk of time. its almost mesmerizing, and the only thing that breaks your concentration is that sudden wave that is bigger than the rest and hits you like a wall and drenches your pants. that happened to me, and for a little bit ruined my plans of laying down on the sand, because i didn't have a towel and i really didn't feel like like walking around like a breaded chicken cutlet. unfortunately to say, i did lay down for a split second, and it was the wrong choice. i was wearing a slub tee and sand managed to get through. one micro-dermabrasion later i was back in action, collected some pretty cool shells, (one which had a hole in it perfect for a necklace), and made it back for lunch and more festivities.
