I think it's crazy how much music can influence your mood so much. Having a bad day? Turn on music you love. There's music for every mood. And always a song I can relate to. It makes me feel so much better knowing that other people know how I feel. A great rhythm doesn't hurt either. On the other side of the coin, when I'm in a bad mood...I tend to listen to music that makes everything worse. It's strange how every side of a person can be expressed in music.
Plus, music influences the person you are as well. Preppy kids like todays hits. Gothic kids like dark music. Punks...well that's self explanatory. And country red neck hicks listen to country. We can't help but to stereotype people that way. You have to admit that when you see someone who crosses music genre it's a little surprising because it's not what we expect.
I'm off to listen to "Tire Swing" by Kimya Dawson. I'm in a weird mood. And this is weird music. Go figure.
