Average Expectations

We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to do great things in life. We have to make great grades, get a great job, and just, in general, do great. What makes it even harder is when our parents put those same pressures on us. Every parent wants their children to do great things, conquer the world and all that, but sometimes, it can be hard to live up to. Not everyone is going to be President of the United States, or the world's best doctor, and it is hard to even admit to failure when we have so much hope from our parents and ourselves. It could drive a person crazy trying to live up to everyone's goals for ourselves. I shouldn't say that we should only hope for the average for ourselves, but maybe if our parents did, we could just surprise them with our achievements instead of disappointing them. Just a thought.
