Unplugged

With the arrival of the iPad in stores today, technology 24/7 seems to be an ever increasing reality. I'm not going to preach like some old geezer romanticizing the days without a telephone or computer, but when do we draw the line? As pathetic as it makes me sound to admit this, I feel powerless when I am without my cellphone for less than an hour at a time. Something as simple as being able to check the time or make a call at a moments notice is important to me. It drives me crazy to be without that privelege. However, it is now more like a necessity to have technology on hand at all times, and it is hard for a lot of us to even keep up with this ever advancing technological age. If the world had to go one day without the internet, it would be deemed by many as the first sign of the apocolypse. It shouldn't be like that, we should be self sufficient, and appreciate the great outdoors and all that, but honestly, we can't blame ourselves for thinking like that. We are just trying to survive.
