Scares of Bullying

When children in elementary go through bullying it can lead to a horrifying experience that may scare them for the rest of their life. I feel like the subject to be of great concern to parents and teachers. At the age of 9 or 10 a child’s brain is obviously not developed and they are not mature enough to build up self esteem that can look past the bullying. I have never been bullied in such a way that it caused me such emotional or physical pain. Kids in school can be cruel and this just goes to show how immature they really are. Children at this stage do not know how to deal with their problems and therefore turn out to be one of the two people: either the bully or the victim that is constantly being bullied. In the case of the bully, he/she might feel like they are gaining popularity, power and respect by picking on other kids. However, the problem in the case of the victim that is constantly being bullied is different. He/she might feel like they deserve to be picked on because he/she is different and the problem would be not knowing how to deal with this. I think that children should be educated in this subject from a very young age the more they know about resources that can prevent bullying they more they are going to enjoy their experience in school.
