Bullying

I think that kids in the 21st century are more sensitive to bullying then they have in the past. We discussed in class the internet as another way for kids to bully and as a new form of bullying. Instead of meeting a person face to face to resolve a problem they can hide behind a computer. I think that kids in this generation are more spoiled than in the past. In the past they had to become adults by 18 or 19. Todays kids stay home later and later and have the comfort of their parents. I think this makes them more immature, sensitive, likely to bully or be bullied. They are more likely to hide from their problems rather than resolving them face to face.
We discussed a Irish girl who committed suicide after being bullied in person and on the computer. This is sad, but a problem with kids today. Suicide is not an answer and there is so much more of the world than simply a high school or town. There are ways around being bullied online such as not going on or using social media programs.
