This picture is of my grandparents, aunt, and uncles on my mom's side. She was born as the eighth of nine children, and I realized that families of this size are not a normality anymore. In the years following World War II, big families were expected. The baby boomers loomed large, and most everyone came from a multichild household. Nowadays, many people have siblings, but it is much more common to be one of three rather than one of nine. I don't know how much fun it could have been to share one bathroom in a house with eleven people, but I bet it was memorable to say the least.Saturday, April 24, 2010
Big Family
