no more sounds

I downloaded audacity for my sounds program, and basically it was a failure to launch. I guess nothing is compladible with windows 7 yet. It always gives me a warning when I download a program that something may go wrong. But luckily up until now i've been okay. Even though I tried to download blender many moons ago but its never going to work i guess. Anyways I downloaded audacity about two weeks ago; I opened it up and tested it out and it seemed fine. Then later that day I recorded my voice for my textures of time project. Then today I go to open audacity and it wont even open!! it says im missing a plug-in. And all my sounds are gone!!!!!!!!!!!!! =/ bummer . And i dont know what to do of course! HELP!
