film so far...

Ok, I didn't have a day off this weekend so I was not able to film anything for my documentary or my fiction piece. On top of that I came down with a nasty cold on Sunday night and have been sick all week so far. But I have been collecting survey responses and talking with people about it.

The general consensus on this whole new definition of age is yes, people are starting their lives later and most people seem to be blaming the baby boomers. Many of the responses I received have been critical of them taking up all the jobs and social security.

The only thing left for people to do is to keep going to school and hope that they will be able to land a higher paying job (or a job at all for that matter) with a master's degree or higher. 8 out of 11 anonymous people surveyed have said that they are currently enrolled in or plan on enrolling in a master's degree program or further. This is absolutely because of the lack of jobs that one can obtain with just a bachelor's degree.

I have a clear idea of where this documentary is going. I am pretty sure that I want to focus it on money and how level of education determines the money that they make, which in turns determines when they will settle down and have children (if they plan on having children). If they do not plan on having children, according to my survey results it is because it is just way too expensive and I have no received many responses who expect to be able to afford more than one or two children. Although I have received several responses that say having less children will have a positive impact on society. So really what most people are saying is in order to reach the level (or pass) that of the older generation, who 20 years ago would have retired at this age, they must as soon as possible get as much education as they can so they will be able to completely fairly with the older generation in the cooperate world.
