What I learned in THR 216

This has been one of the most untraditional classes I have taken in Stony Brook. The class discussions on modernism and technological vitalism were such a big topic of the semester. I got to know what other people my age think of society today and their plans on to deal with it in the future. It is a great class to just express your creativity and experiment with your abilities. The blogs itself were a great way of putting what you’re thinking about on paper. The world and its components like the people, culture, and technology are always changing. This class catches up with the advances so you can think about today as well as tomorrow. Half of the jobs that are available today will not be there ten years from now because of the rapid advances in technology. It is important to grasp the concept of “change” and adjust to it so tomorrow won’t be a “beach ball of death”

Graduation

I lost my ID :(

Here I am writing my blogs for THR and I realize I need another cup of coffee so I get my wallet and then start to panic. What you ask? Because I cant find my ID! This is really bad It’s the last week of school and I have finals and I lose my student ID. I am very upset. I have to go retrace my steps since this morning. Hopefully, I find it! If not this is going to be a horrible day. The worst part is I can’t take my finals without my Stony Brook ID. I’m going to go look for it know wish me luck guys.

Software

Professor Baldwin introduced me to many different software like sketchup and GIMP. I have to say that it was really fun to mess around with them. It have me a chance to experiment with new programs and express my creativity in different ways. I even got to make my own portfolio. Having worked with these programs I can say that I have worked with all these different programs. It’s kinda crazy how everything we do in real life like sing, dance, move, paint and even think can now be done by a computer.

Take a Risk

Professor Baldwin has stressed the idea of going for what you want. In order to be recognized one has to put themselves out there and show themselves by standing out. If you are recognized and people like you u have an advantage already. Do not be afraid to try something new and take chances along with new risks. Nothing can hurt you; you hurt learn something from the experience. Life is not easy and with all the competition it is hard to succeed in what you want. However, it is not impossible. If you put your mind to it you will succeed.

Summer Plans

I am pretty sure that most of the students are looking forward to summer. Especially, after final’s week. I know it takes approximately one week after a semester to distress and catch up of sleep lol. However, I have to say that summer is not really going to be much of a change for me. I have to take summer class and work. I will be living in Queens though and taking classes in Manhattan. At least I will be living at home so that sounds relaxing enough. I have to say that the only thing I am looking forward to this summer in the World Cup. Other than that I really do not know. I guess I’ll just have to take it one day at a time and add a few beach days and traveling.

Fernando Torres

Everybody has a favorite person, someone they admire. Fernando Torres is a soccer player who was born and brought up in Spain. He was discovered as an amazing football player by the age of 17, which is when he was first drafted to a football club. I have to say that he is one of the best football players of today. His skills are very admirable and it only contributes to his greatness. He has already proven himself at a young age and there is so much more that he has yet to show us. Long live Torres!

FIFA 2010

I have to say that soccer is my favorite sport. I am pretty sure I am not the only one since it is played and loved all over the world. The world cup comes every four years and it is where the qualified countries played against each other. To me this is the most exciting sport and tournament to watch. There is no adrenaline rush like to watch your favorite soccer team play in the world cup. It’s not only entertaining but in a way uniting. It’s the time of the year where most people’s attention is on the same thing. Soccer is not very popular in United States however; the rest of the world basically worships this sport. I have been watching soccer since I was born and although I watch and play many other sports I can honestly say that nothing beats soccer. I guess it has become so important to me that it is now part of me. Anyway, this summer I am going to be rooting for Spain. They have my favorite player Fernando Torres and I think it is about time Spain had a chance to redeem themselves.
