Politics and Theater

At The Tank, I was able to combine two of my favorite topics into one event. I love learning about politics, war, and history and I am also a theater lover. What makes good drama is it's ability to reflect real human life and tragedy. I think war is obviously one of mankind's inevitable and unavoidable ills which many plays touch upon greatly. They say that those who don't learn history are destined to repeat it. I think most of us have learned history lessons many times, but there is something to be said about the experience of witnessing it. If we were able to act out the bloodshed and losses in a safe way, through theater, we could show just how awful war can be without actually hurting anyone. Theater is reflective of life, and I think that many of the videos at The Tank illustrated the sacrifices so many have made.
