Taper is boring
I don't know how many of you know about the sport of swimming but I am on the SBU swim team. Every year about a month if not more before our championship meet we make a pact to go dry (not drink) and eat as healthy as possible. About 2 weeks before Champs we begin to taper, which is where our practices cut down on yardage and we are encouraged to stay off our feet and rest. So here I am on my 5th weekend in a row of not going out like most college students, and my energy level is starting to rise to about the level of 5 year old who has just eaten an entire packet of pixie sticks but is put in time out and can't burn on the sugar rush. Thank God our meet is next week. It is extremely difficult to find fun activities that don't burn a bunch of enegry. Quite frankly you can watch movies only so many weekends.
