Pet Peeves Part 2

People talking on cell phones while driving and texting while driving are other pet peeves of mine. Not only is it just stupid to do, it’s illegal. I’ve been in cars with others who talk on their phones while driving, and it is scary to know how quickly they lose focus on the road and just concentrate on their conversation. When I'm driving and wind up at a red light or stop sign, I'll look over to my right and left and see people looking down at their phones and texting away. Someone almost crashed into my car when I was driving home because they were texting while driving, and they had the nerve to tailgate me and give me the nastiest look like I did something wrong. It’s dangerous for the people in the car and the hundreds of other people on the road with them. It’s not that hard to pull over to the side of the road or go in a parking lot to continue with your phone call. But is your phone call so urgent that you couldn’t wait to pull over or pay attention to the road so you can safely get to your destination? Society today is always in a hurry. I swear most people are attached to their cell phones that they can’t wait like 20 minutes to call someone, check their voicemail, or text someone to see what's up. There have been thousands of car crashes and deaths related to this and I'll never understand why people continue to do it when they know the potential aftermath.
