Long Island Traffic

I am from Massachusetts and still amazed me how long it takes me to get from Point A to Point B on this Island. I feel like everything takes twice as long here as it would back home. So many cars, so many lights it's so frustrating! I think Long Island really needs another highway without lights besides the LIE. 347, 25, 25a are always crowded with cars and it never flows smoothly. Travel makes it really difficult to get a job anywhere too far. I have a job in Oakdale which I feel normally at home would not be that bad to travel to. But here it takes me at least 45 minutes if not more depending on traffic. I have to go down 347 then down Nichols to Sunrise and so forth.
