Growing up in the 90s was an epic time to be a little kid. In my opinion, the tv shows and music were 10x better than what the kids growing up in today’s society have. I don’t know if it’s because I’m older now and actually realize what the various television programs are about, but today’s Disney and Nickelodeon shows are horrible. Compare Hannah Montana and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody with Rugrats, Rocket Power, Hey Arnold. I think anybody would agree that these 90s shows are much better than today’s shows. As far as music goes, I believe the 90s boy bands and singers, such as Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, and Christina Aguilera actually had talent compared to Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, and the Jonas Brothers. It seems anybody nowadays can be a famous singer despite your inability to sing in tune. It seems kids today also want to grow up quickly and forget about their childhood. I know when I was younger, my friends and I wanted to grow up faster and be considered a teenager/adult, but we still had fun and appreciated being a little kid. I enjoyed watching Doug, Clarissa Explains it All, and Legends of the Hidden Temple. I enjoyed playing with my Tamagotchis, Skip-It, and collecting Beanie Babies. Kids today are worried about getting the newest iPhone or getting a BMW when they don’t even have their permit yet. You have plenty of time of being adult; appreciate being a little kid and the fewer responsibilities you have.
