16 and Prego!!!

I watch MTV's show titled 16 and Pregnant. Teen pregnancies have increased tremendously and the ages of these mothers start from 14 years old! It saddens me to see when a girl who is practically a child herself is pregnant. Most of the time, these pregnancies are unplanned and the father may not even be in the picture because he is too young to want to deal with a baby. Watching shows such as this is good for young girls so that they can see the struggles of being a teen mom and all of the hard work that goes into raising a child. When I watch these shows it upsets me to see some of these teen moms treat THEIR mothers like total garbage. One episode a girl who was about 16 years old would curse at her mother, tell her to shut up, and go out with her friends while the mother would have to watch the baby. Accidents happen but if a girl does have a baby then she should know that she has to take full responsibility for the child and take care of it. They think that they can still be teenagers who party all the time and do whatever they want when in reality they have someone who they have to raise and can't just leave with their parents. Parents and guardians have to be on top of their children. If they do not want their kids having sex before marriage then they really have to enforce it. If they don't care then they should always remind them to use protection because having a baby can really put a pause in your life. You may not be able to continue school, you won't get to hang with your friends as much, and life will only get busier and busier. This show just makes a lot of people happy that they weren't teen moms.
