100 posts!

This is my 100th post! This class was honestly one of the most interesting classes I've ever taken. I learned a lot about various programs like Audacity or GIMP that I previously never used before. I really liked altering various pictures in GIMP and even though I still don't know how to really use Sketch Up, it was pretty cool knowing you can build anything you want like sets or random designs. I liked how we got to be creative and there were no standard written tests/quizzes. The final was awesome too because we got to go to the city and watch everybody interact with one another and view each others projects we've worked on all semester. I'm a media minor so hopefully I'll be taking a lot of classes just like these in the future.

summer

This summer is going to be amazing. I'm going to a bunch of concerts/shows and the first one lined up is already next Friday. I'm going to see The Script in the city. Hopefully the weather stays nice because the show is outdoors and I would hate for it to rain or possibly get canceled. I saw them last summer and they are even more amazing live. They are so talented and in my opinion, really underrated. I know their songs have just started to get more radio airplay recently but they should have been on the radio way before that (and maybe get rid of that Justin Bieber or Kesha too)

textbooks

I bought my textbooks at Stony Books at the beginning of this semester because I thought they would be cheaper there rather than at Stony Brook's bookstore or anywhere else. I chose to receive email notifications to let me know when I can start selling my books back for cash.. so a few days ago, I got the email. It listed one book that I paid $10 for and they said I will get 25 cents back. That's right, a quarter. What am I supposed to do with that? Maybe I can put that quarter towards textbooks for next fall. Out of the $300+ I'll probably spend on books, I at least know I have 25 cents saved up.

Saturday Night Live

I just watched last night's SNL for a second time and it was just as hilarious the first time I watched it. Betty White is amazing. She has perfect comedic timing and she made everything absolutely hysterical. I love that former cast members like Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Ana Gasteyer, Molly Shannon, and Maya Rudolph came back for the show. They were some of the funniest cast members ever with the best sketches. I've been watching SNL for a while and last night was one of the best episodes I've ever seen.

The Tank

The final at the tank yesterday was pretty awesome. It was unlike any final I've ever had and all of my friends were shocked when I told them I had a final in the city. I liked seeing everyone's videos and performances. I'm glad we got to talk to a soldier in Texas and hear his perspective on war. I can't believe the semester is over already!

richard III set

I attempted this a few weeks ago but never posted it - Richard III set. There's not much because sketch up kept freezing anytime I tried to add something or edit it.

Here's the finished movie I made:

Soldiers

I sent out the letter we wrote for the soldiers asking them about joining us for our final tomorrow a while ago. I still haven't received a response, but hopefully if the live chat works out tomorrow, we can get many informative and interesting answers. My friend knows three people overseas but she rarely gets in contact with them because of the time differences and limited internet use there. The soldiers are willing to use the internet for instant messaging and video chatting but most of the time they are talking to family members or other loved ones. I can't wait to see the final result of this project tomorrow!

Last day of class!

Today was my last day of sophomore year. I transferred to Stony Brook in the fall, so this year I kind of felt like a freshman again, adjusting to a new school that is completely different from where I previously went. This entire semester (and year) went by so quickly! It was nice having Fridays off this semester and it helped me save more gas money for commuting. I have Fridays off in the fall as well, so I'm happy about that as well. I'm extremely relieved classes are over and summer vacation is here, but I have so much to do to prepare for finals over the next week and I am already stressed.
