Class this semester

This class has probably been the best class I've taken at SB. Its interesting material and use of new programs really expanded my knowledge of a field I've always been interested in. I'd like to thank Professor Baldwin and our entire class for making it enjoyable. I hope everyone enjoys their summer, be sure to crack a few blue ribbons along the way.

Chris

Lost

Does anyone else watch LOST? Ive watched this show from the beginning, and I must say, I'm very sad its about to end. All the skeptics who said that they dont have any direction, and are simply doing it for the money were proven wrong tonight, as the first season finally connected to the final season. I will admit, one must watch it from the beginning, and can not simply jump into the middle, but this show seriously dives deep into humans inner nature and the important things in life. If any of you have some serious time to kill this summer, I recommend grabbing season one, I guarantee you will be hooked!

Finals Time

Well we all know the feeling.... the feeling of being overwhelmed. Buried. Its that time of the year again, where kids start screaming at midnight, and they're screaming for a good reason! Thankfully Professor Baldwin made our final last weekend, because if it was this weekend it would have been incredibly difficult to manage! I only have three finals, but also have a 14 page paper and a 5 page paper. Could I have been proactive and gotten them out of the way ages ago? Probably... but this is college, and the number one rule is dont do today what can be put off until tomorrow!!!

FLASH RAVE

So who was at the flash rave last night? It was awesome!! Finally Stony Brook getting its party on! Hundreds of people met on Staller Steps around 1045, and began an instant dance party. Once the police broke that up, the crowd moved into the library where it lasted twice as long! Complete with glow sticks, techno music and crowd surfing, this was an incredible sign of fun on the students behalf. The organizer was then arrested for inciting a riot.... nice.

Brookfest

this past weekend was brookfest, a conglomeration of several bands trying to make a name for themselves in front of the raging Stony Brook masses. This year, the famous band Matt and Kim, along with Wal-e were the headlines. Upon walking into the arena, I realized that it would be just like every other SB event. Devoid of people. maybe 300+ people. THANKFULLY as the night went on, more people showed up, and Matt and Kim stole the concert as they riled up the crowd to the point of crowd surfing and moshing. All in all, an awesome performance by Matt and Kim, and a let down by the 20,000 students that attend SB.

Athletics Banquet

Last night all the athletes at Stony Brook were honored with our annual banquet, which is a nice excuse to get dressed up, get some free food, and win some awards. Overall a very nice evening, and an excuse not to use my meal points, which have been heavily depleted. Attached are some pictures of the evening.

Some more TANK photos

THE TANK

Wow.... is all I can say, probably one of the coolest finals I've ever been "forced" to take. The atmosphere was of pure creativity, with everyone's projects and skits finally being presented. My only regret is having to leave early to race, but I'm glad I got to see a majority of the performances and skits, (and even got to take part in one.) Congratulations everyone on a stellar job this semester, and creating some awesome visual culture for us to watch!! Here are some photos I snapped with the Iphone while we were prepping and stuff...

Last Batch Of Art

Sorry for excessive posts on this beach trip, but I thought the art was incredible.

More Gilgo Beach Mural Art

Gilgo Beach

I went to the beach with my friend last weekend for a quick surf session, and to check on the swells. One of my other friends was recently hired to paint the inside of the tunnel which leads to the beach, so I snapped some cool photos of the awesome work he did. I took pictures of all the other artists as well, as it is now a beautiful tunnel, much more appealing than before.

College Rant

Ok so this is something that often came up in class, but who has a significant other in college? When I first got to SB 4 years ago, the last thing on earth I wanted was a girlfriend. As time went on, I wanted that companionship, and eventually got it sophomore and Junior year. Now senior year has come around and I want to burn all the bridges and live like a rebel, go out with a bang. Does anyone else feel the same way? Anyone experience these cycles? Professor Baldwin knows what I'm talking about..... all you need in life is a paps blue ribbon and an ipad....

Fight scene from film

Here was another version of the fight scene in our film "Interference"

Post filming

Here are some shots and footage of our final filming session.

Professor working the ipad touch

Getting involved

Everyone got so into using the technology Professor Baldwin brought with him. Chris was completely mesmerized as he made music with the ipad touch! This was unreal once he got it going!

Performances at the tank!

war movie

Never got to show this at the final. These are some war photo's of Chris's grandad that I put together on imovie. Music was created on Garageband.
