ASBO

So I am part of ASBO or Alternative Spring Break Outreach and we are a student run organization that takes 50 students to another part of the country during Spring Break week to help others in need; similar to Habitat for Humanity except we immerse ourselves in the other culture, make new friends, and have a great time while volunteering and helping others.

People's usual response is why would you want to move to another place when there's so many ways you can help here on the Island. Well of course help is needed on the island, help is needed everywhere. There are so many different organizations on the island and at school that allow one to volunteer here and if that's what you want to do then you should join them. The point of ASBO is to travel, that's why its called an alternative spring break. The whole point is to travel, have fun, make friends, and at the same time volunteer.
