I had worked at a bakery for four years and was feeling a bit under appreciated, so I asked for a raise. You can imagine how I felt when my boss was just like... NO! That greedy little B. I was furious and I was like to my manager, "Ya know, I'm gonna put in my two weeks. " This was about two weeks before Thanksgiving (a rather large business day). So I work until Thanksgiving, forgetting that I had put in my two weeks and the following Sunday my manger tells me to give someone else to case I usually clean since it was my last day. I was pretty upset at the time because I just over reacted and didn't really want to quit. But then I though, "Do I?" What had that place ever done for me? I bust my ass coming in to work at 5 am for $8.50 an hour... yea no.
So I decide to live off my money I had saved for a while. I didn't want to get another job because I wanted to intern over the summer so I just kept one or two 3 hour a week lifeguard shift, not bad a little pocket change. But once I got my internship that is probably when my bank account began it's rapid decline. I worked 5 days a week in the city on an unpaid internship that I would have to travel all over the city for and sometimes upstate or on Long Island. And that internship was so awful that I had anxiety about working for the next month and did not get a job until late august that was only for about a month because I worked at a seasonal restaurant. Luckily my boss of that exact restaurant opened a new restaurant in late October so I had a job again... But then came Christmas and Birthdays, spend, spend, spend! And then I decided I needed to go to Mexico... hhaha so I guess I know where most of money has gone. It was all worth it in the end, mostly (not really the internship).
