Grandpa

This Thursday morning my grandpa passed away. I was very close to him and my grandmother growing up and to this day. I used to spend every summer with them. Grandpa was always happy in front of his grandchildren no matter what. He was happy with the simple things in life. My grandmother was his world. They were happily married for over 50 years! His grandchildren meant everything to him. I remember being younger with my 2 cousins that are only 9 months older than me and we used to decorate grandpa with stickers and toys whenever he fell asleep. He would always just laugh. He would let us do whatever we wanted to do. Even when he was sick in the hospital for the past 2 years on an off he would pretend to be happy whenever we saw him. He loved his family and would do anything for them. I know that he was suffering and dieing relieved him of suffering but I still miss him already. This past Sunday, Mother's day, would have been his 78th birthday. He always told me how much he loved me and how proud he was every time I saw him. Going to college was very important to him. He went to college and got a Bachelor's degree in a time that people didn't even have to attend High School. He became an accountant for Viacom in Manhattan. He was a smart man and he was fully aware of everything until the day he died.
