Betty White

If there is anything Betty White has taught us this past weekend hosting "Saturday Night Live," is that you can do anything at any age. This woman is an ultimate professional, and her skills are as good as they ever were. I love how she is considered cool and relevant at 88 years old. Most people in Hollywood don't get that chance, and she is enjoying every minute of it. She is lucky to be in such good health at this age as well, and I love that there doesn't seem to be any sign of her slowing down. I think the ingredient for a long life is loving what you do and doing it. I've seen so many people deteriorate rapidly after retiring, and it is because they are no longer as active. They are no longer engaging their bodies or their minds to the extent they did on the job. If you are lucky enough to love what you do, you can do it forever and it doesn't feel like work. I had a great aunt that lived well into her nineties. She always looked so young compared to her peers and I asked her what her secret was. Her response was simply "good living." I'm sure that what constitutes good living is different for everyone but I know I want to experience it. I want to be a kick-ass lady like Betty White rather than nursing my broken hip in a retirement home. Here is to good living and a life well lived!
