If you check news12 or Newsday you will see that a local elementary school burned to the ground Thursday night. While I did not attend that school, I still get the chills when I look at the burnt remains of the school. I went to the school directly behind South Bay, literally 100 meters away. My entire town seems to be numb at the moment, reveling in a devastating loss. The school just built a brand new state of the art library, which never had the chance to be used.
For many of these kids, this was a safe haven. A constant place where these youngsters could feel secure. Now, with this safe haven reduced to ruble, many questions arise. Where will these 400 students be taught? Are the materialistic objects like a computer and textbooks essential for successful learning? Sure they help and are incredible aids, but are they Vital?? Where will these kids go? Will they stay together? Will they be split up? Will the school be repaired or rebuilt? These are only a few...
