I will have to be on technology's side in materialism vs. vitalism. I am, although I dont appear to be, a huge tech nerd or computer nerd as you may know it. I love working with computers, both hardware and software. I enjoy taking apart my tower and putting things back together. Im the type of person that has to get the newest piece of technology before anyone else and learn and master it hah. yes yes. from this blog post most of you guys must think wow, this guy is a complete dork. In some ways it is true and in some ways it isnt. How has this passion for technology affected my life? Well socially, i believe that it has helped in some way. Some of my close friends became close friends due to communication through texting and instant messaging. I personally believe that instant messaging doesnt actually replace communication but makes communication happen at a much more frequent rate. I also play online pc games that involve tons and tons of player to player interactions. And although there is a stereotype for "gamers" to be social pariah's and awkward outcasts, it is in fact the opposite for me. I believe that every social situation, whether it be virtual or physical, adds to your experience in working and socializing with others. I am a former president of a student activity club and still currently hold the vice president title. I also think that this massive involvement with computers will help me later on in the job field because i have good software proficiency and I will be able to keep up with current software use that is required by office-based and pc based jobs.
I have no idea if i did the right thing for this blog, but here it is guys. See you all in class.
