ForumSpring.me

I'm not sure how many of you have heard this. Probably a decent amount. For those who don't know it's basically a site where someone offers up to anyone the chance to ask a question. Any question. About anything. I'm not sure if they have to answer or not, but the askers are anonymous unless they want to reveal themselves. I'm assuming there is a level of honesty involved here, but I can't thin of why this is needed. At all. Why would anyone need to be asked sensitive questions and expect answers for all of the internet to see?

"Because.... internet." Was my friends response.

Though this threw us into a five minute rant-war, I can't exactly negate her statement. What is it about the internet that makes people want to expose damned near everything about themselves? Why is it suddenly okay to put a diary, a once private expression, up on the interwebs? What is it about the world wide web that makes sensitive information obsolete by desensitizing everyone to everything and providing ample opportunity to reveal things people just don't face to face?

Can anyone explain this to me?
