cellphone lingo

Sometimes I think that cell phones have ruined the way we think. I know that I text so often that I often think in text. Instead of thinking things like, "Hey, that was funny." I actually think the letters "LOL" in my head… How terrible is that?

I cannot imagine what this new generation of children younger than me think like. I know when I was in high school by my senior year most people had cell phones but nobody had them out during class or anything, especially since it was mega expensive to use texts back then. Now, these kids have smart phones with everything but the kitchen sink on them and kids get these phones when they are like 10. I remember when my cousins first got cell phones and they were still in junior high school and I was thinking, what could they possible need cell phones for? Now that is old to get your first cell phone, I see little kids with cell phones all the time. I do not think that my parents would have gotten me a cell phone at such a young age, I would definitely have lost it or dropped it.

Now that these young kids are growing up with cell phones at the hip since birth I wonder how differently they will think than the generations before. I definitely think differently because I have this cell phone language stuck in my head… I just can't wait until everyone starts talking in "lol's" and "143's" and all that other cell phone mumbo jumbo.
