The obsession with celebrity is a relatively new one and is having an increasing influence on the way we dress, act and even structure our topics of conversation, this ’craze’ is changing the face of modern society in that we no longer look up to the hard working, self made role models of the past, but now to the often untalented, ungifted and commonly bad role models that appear in abundance through the medium of the media. They’re numerous TV shows, magazines and almost all types of media that can be now be seen to centre around and report solely the actions of these “celebrities” and seemingly do very well doing so.
At what point did this obsession take its grasp, there is no harm in following and supporting our favourite movie stars or artists but at one point did we begin to give a second thought let alone read an article on the likes of Tila Tequila (I’m not including myself in that)!!
