Caller ID Spoofing

When I first learned about these spoofing apps I wanted to get it on my Iphone immediately. With this app you could call someone but under a different phone number. All I could think about is prank calling my friends and things like that. But when I read more about it I realized that these apps could be dangerous. I read a story that some kid spoofed a 911 call saying that he was held hostage or something and SWAT team and cops busted into a families home that had no clue what was going on. This app could also allow you to hack into another person's voicemail if you wanted to. As long as your phone does not have a password to access your voicemail, all you would have to do spoof the call so that your phone thinks it's calling itself and your in. I know people would use these apps to catch cheating boyfriends or girlfriends or what not but I think there should be some kind of restriction so people won't take it too far. Just thinking about someone hacking into my phone is scary but unfortunately with technology these days it is as easy as pressing a button.
