Arrange Marriage

What would your family say if you came home with your boyfriend tomorrow? Would they approve, disapprove or not care at all? Well I can’t speak for everyone but there are some cases where families are not ready to accept such relationships. There are families who strongly believe in simply arranged marriages. Even though times have changed, some people still have the same thinking like people years back did. They still think that daughters are a burden to the family because they have to give dowry when they get married. It’s like a girl is a piece of property and she’s sold into a new family. If the groom’s family doesn’t like the amount of dowry given, then she might not get married off to a good family. Is there a price on girls now? It’s not as bad as it used to be but some families still believe in it either to keep tradition or just simple greed. Are humans a part of this vital materialism? I don’t like this idea but the older generations have their reason to keep their tradition alive and this is one important one. Girls are not anyone’s property. What’s the guarantee that the girl is going to have a good married is her family gives a good dowry? Nothing is for sure with given word. People change with the passing time and they might not always do what they say and in the presence of money, they can say a lot.
