An age of over information??

We previously discussed the advancements of technology and globalisation in the new age of information. Through our debate one topic of reoccurrence was how this growing access to information affects us, and further, does it have a positive or negative impact on our lives, relationships and overall interaction within society. Ultimately; do we now live in the age of over information?
It is clear that in this era of social networking sites and the overall access to mass amounts of information that is now at our fingertips, there are many positives primarily in regards to easy access to not only this information on almost anything but also in our connections with friends, family, associates and almost any other desired business or contact across the globe. While this is true, the primary argument that arose from this was in the loss of the personal aspects of relationships and a trend of declining personable behaviour in place of first hand interaction.
